Hong Kong Film Archive provides you a mine of information on local films of the past and present.

Its primary function includes collecting and documenting film prints and related materials, and publishing film biographies. The archive houses a 110- seat cinema, an exhibition hall, a research and study centre with individual viewing booths, cold storage for film prints, conservation laboratories, and a computerized cataloguing system recording film- o- graphic and technical information.

It also acts as a rich source in providing film related information. It promotes film based research. Many artifacts and prints have been damaged by neglect. The conservation section of the archive tries to restore these damaged prints.

At present they boast of a huge collection of more than 5,600 films. The history of some of their films can be traced as far back as 1898. Some of the recent block busters which have fared well in the box office have also been stored here.

Hours: Main Foyer: 10a- 8p M- Su or 15 minutes after the end of the last screening, Box Office: Noon- 8p F- W.
