Good Laque

This shop brings to you one of the best traditional arts in ancient China namely Lacquer ware. This fading Asian tradition has survived in China and Vietnam. This shop fosters this rich traditional art.

As you enter the shop an array of lacquer ware greets you. These glossy, colorful products which have been painstakingly made with the loving hands of artisans captivate you completely.

Lacquer- ware consists of coating bamboo or wooden items with layers of lustrous color and varnish to create a wonderfully smooth surface. Items in this lacquer- ware collection include trays, boxes, plates, vases, place mats and accessories such as napkin rings and chopsticks with accompanying rests. All items are handmade and come in a variety of rich colors, including gold, silver, green and red.

This product takes more than a month to complete. The lacquer process of a simple piece takes a minimum of 45 days, not to mention the time needed for the wooden or bamboo base. Some items may take up to several months to be completed.
