Hong Kong Tramways

The tram is the icon of Hong Kong. It represents the vibrant city. Its history can be traced back as early as 1904, when the first tram produced by the company chugged through the city.

After more than a century of service, the Hong Kong tramways is still going strong, providing reliable and efficient service to the residents and visitors to Hong Kong.

When Hong Kong Tramways was founded, the 26 tramcars of the first fleet were all single- deck. It now owns and operates a fleet of 163 tramcars which includes 2 antique tramcars. It is the world's largest fleet of double- deck tramcars still in operation, carrying an average of 240,000 passengers every day.

The company has given its trams smart brand new metal bodies, designed by their team of reputed engineers. Another advantage of the tram is that it is the most environmental friendly form of transport which does not produce any pollutant The company has constantly upgraded its fleet of vehicles and facilities.
